Conception of democratic school management in the context of the municipal education plan of São Luís – MA

Resumo

Este artigo é resultado de um estudo realizado na disciplina Estado e Política Educacional, componente curricular do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal do Maranhão.  Tem como objetivo analisar a concepção de gestão democrática escolar presente no Plano Municipal de São Luís (PME) – MA (Lei nº 6.001/15). A pesquisa foi fundamentada na abordagem qualitativa, com base em uma análise bibliográfica e documental. Como conclusão, constatamos que o PME – São Luís manifesta diversos avanços quanto à busca pela implementação de uma organização escolar democrática e participativa. No entanto, a concepção de gestão democrática referenciada no documento é reduzida às eleições de diretores escolares.

Abstract

This article is the result of a study conducted in the subject State and Educational Policy, a curricular component of the Graduate Program in Education of the Federal University of Maranhão.  It aims to analyze the concept of democratic school management present in the Municipal Plan of São Luís (SME) - MA (Law No. 6.001/15). The research was based on a qualitative approach, based on a bibliographic and documental analysis. As a conclusion, we can see that PME - São Luís shows several advances regarding the search for the implementation of a democratic and participative school organization. However, the concept of democratic management referenced in the document is reduced to the elections of school principals.
