Evasão na educação superior: uma temática em discussão

Resumo

A evasão ou abandono no âmbito da educação superior é uma temática que vem sendo estudada de forma mais significativa nos últimos cinco anos. Insere-se não só na preocupação das políticas afirmativas de inclusão do estudante, em especial das instituições privadas que têm apresentado os maiores percentuais de estudantes nessa situação e, portanto,as principais interessadas em mantê-los em seus cursos. Estudos buscam revelar causas da evasão/abandono escolar, bem como apontar medidas para o retorno dos estudantes às instituições e para prevenir novas perdas. Este trabalho, do tipo Estado do Conhecimento, propôs-se levantar as teses e dissertações produzidas no período de 2005 a 2010 disponíveis no respectivo banco da CAPES e revelar o que dizem essas produções sobre a evasão ou abandono na educação superior, bem como identificar medidas propostas/adotadas para minimizar a situação na perspectiva dos autores que as produziram e das instituições que lhes serviram de locus de estudo. Os resultados revelam que a evasão é um fenômeno multifacetado e com várias causas.

Evasion in higher education: a topic for discussion

Evasion or dropping-out within higher education is a topic that has been studied most significantly in the past five years. Inserts are not only the concern of affirmative inclusion of the student, but in particular by private institutions in order to be those with the highest percentages of students in this situation and therefore the main interested in keeping them in their courses. Studies seek to reveal causes of school evasion / dropout and identify measures for the return of students to the institutions and to prevent further losses. This work, of the type State of Knowledge, aimed at looking into the theses and dissertations produced in the period between 2005-2010 on the respective data bank from CAPES and reveal what they say about evasion or abandonment in higher education, and to identify measures proposed / taken to minimize the situation from the perspective of the researchers who produced them and the institutions that served as their locus of study. The results show that evasion is a multifaceted phenomenon, in which a single cause (or factor) does not act alone to its effectiveness.
