A família linguística Jê na perspectiva do contato entre PanhÄ© e kupẽ: uma abordagem sobre os Apinayé

Resumo

Este artigo aborda perspectivas e concepções historiográficas que envolvem a origem linguística do povo Apinayé e os primeiros contatos com os não-indígenas. Objetivou-se demonstrar a importância histórica desse povo, bem como o espaço ocupado por ele, levando-se em conta a formação da sociedade brasileira. Quanto à metodologia, foi adotada a revisão de literatura à luz das principais bibliografias que retratam esse povo, com finalidade sociolinguística e etnográfica. Dentre os resultados, demonstrou-se a importância dos indígenas Apinayé para a constituição da identidade regional, pelas heranças culturais e pela miscigenação com o não-indígena, bem como a influência da igreja na consolidação do contato e na fixação no entorno de Tocantinópolis-TO.

The language family Jê in the perspective of the contact between PanhÄ© and Kupẽ: an approach on the Apinayés

Abstract

This article approaches historiographical perspectives and conceptions that involve the linguistic origin of the Apinayé people and the first contacts with the nonindigenous ones. The objective was to demonstrate the historical importance of this people, as well as the space occupied by it, taking into account the formation of Brazilian society. As for the methodology, the literature review was adopted in light of the main bibliographies that portray these people, with a sociolinguistic and ethnographic purpose. Among the results, it was demonstrated the importance of the Apinayé Indians to the constitution of regional identity, cultural heritages and miscegenation with the non-indigenous, as well as the influence of the church in the consolidation of the contact and fixation in the surroundings of Tocantinópolis-TO.
