Diretrizes para Autores

1) Artigo Científico

Máximo de 25 páginas, numeradas, incluindo tabelas e figuras. O texto deve ser apresentado com: título, resumo e termos para indexação (os três em português e inglês); introdução; material e métodos; resultados; discussão; conclusões; agradecimentos e referências. Todos os subtítulos, sem numeração, deverão ser escritos em negrito, com as iniciais em maiúscula:

1) Scientific Article

Maximum 25 pages, numbered, including tables and figures. The text should be presented with: title, abstract and terms for indexing (the three in Portuguese and English); introduction; material and methods; results; discussion; conclusions; thanks and references. All subheadings, not numbered, should be written in bold with the initials capitalized:

1.1 Título: Conciso e informativo. Não deve exceder 15 palavras em letras minúsculas. Se indicar uma espécie no título, usar somente o nome binário. Evitar fórmulas e abreviações.

1.1 Title: Concise and informative. It should not exceed 15 words in lowercase letters. If you indicate a species in the title, use only the binary name. Avoid formulas and abbreviations.

1.2 Resumo: Forma resumida do manuscrito. Inclui descrição de objetivo, metodologia simplificada e principais resultados e ou conclusões. Máximo de 200 palavras. O Abstract deve refletir o Resumo.

1.2 Abstract: Abstract form of the manuscript. Includes description of objective, simplified methodology and main results and or conclusions. Maximum of 200 words. 

1.3 Termos para indexação: indicar três termos; não serão aceitas palavras que componham o título. Não usar termos gerais, plurais ou abreviaturas. Preferencialmente usar termos contidos no AGROVOC Multilingual Thesaurus disponível em: http://aims.fao.org/standards/agrovoc/functionalities/search.

1.3 Terms for indexing: indicate three terms; words that make up the title will not be accepted. Do not use general terms, plurals or abbreviations. Preferably use terms contained in the AGROVOC Multilingual Thesaurus available at http://aims.fao.org/standards/agrovoc/functionalities/search.

1.4 Introdução: Contextualizar o estado da arte do tema em estudo, situando a importância do problema científico abordado no manuscrito. Deve conter a justificativa para a realização do trabalho, com revisão da literatura pertinente ao tema (mais atualizada possível). Deve ser objetiva e consistente com a apresentação do problema, dando destaque à sua relevância. Ao final, deve expressar o objetivo principal do estudo com clareza, sem detalhes metodológicos.

1.4 Introduction: Contextualize the state of the art of the subject under study, placing the importance of the scientific problem addressed in the manuscript. It should contain the justification for carrying out the work, with a review of the relevant literature (most up to date possible). It should be objective and consistent with the presentation of the problem, highlighting its relevance. In the end, it should express the main objective of the study with clarity, without methodological details.

1.5 Material e métodos: Descrever de forma objetiva e completa, para que o estudo possa ser reproduzido. Métodos publicados previamente devem ser apresentados de forma sucinta e referenciados. Descrever adaptações de métodos já existentes, quando aplicável;

1.5 Material and methods: Describe in an objective and complete way, so that the study can be reproduced. Previously published methods should be presented succinctly and referenced. Describe adaptations of existing methods, where applicable;

1.6 Resultados: Descrever de forma objetiva e concisa, sem incluir interpretações/comparações. O texto não deve conter descrição de todo o conteúdo apresentado nas tabelas e figuras, restringindo ao destaque dos pontos mais relevantes;

1.6 Results: Describe in an objective and concise manner, not including interpretations/comparisons. The text should not contain a description of all the content presented in the tables and figures, restricting the highlight of the most relevant points;

1.7 Discussão: os resultados devem ser discutidos de forma crítica e com argumentação lógica, com suporte de literatura cientifica;

1.7 Discussion: the results should be discussed critically and with logical argument, supported by scientific literature;

1.8 Conclusões / Considerações finais: Devem apresentar de forma clara o diferencial alcançado com o desenvolvimento do trabalho. Não repetir os resultados;

1.8 Conclusions / Final considerations: They should present clearly the differential achieved with the development of the work. Do not repeat the results;

1.9 Agradecimentos e fonte de financiamento: quando pertinente, indique as instituições envolvidas, agências de fomento e/ou pessoas que prestaram efetiva colaboração para a realização do trabalho. Informações sobre financiamento devem ser incluídas nesta seção. Os profissionais de suporte que realizaram uma tarefa puramente técnica no manuscrito podem ser listados nesta seção;

1.9 Acknowledgments and source of funding: where applicable, indicate the institutions involved, development agencies and / or persons who have effectively collaborated to carry out the work. Funding information should be included in this section. Support professionals who performed a purely technical task in the manuscript can be listed in this section;

1.10 Referências: de acordo com as orientações apresentadas abaixo. A exatidão e a adequação das referências a trabalhos que tenham sido consultados e mencionados no texto do artigo são de responsabilidade do(s) autor(es). Todos os trabalhos citados no texto deverão ser listados na seção de Referências;

1.10 References: according to the guidelines presented below. The accuracy and adequacy of references to papers that have been consulted and mentioned in the text of the article are the responsibility of the author (s). All papers cited in the text should be listed in the References section;

1.11 Abreviaturas e siglas: deverão ser utilizadas de forma padronizada internacional, restringindo apenas àquelas usadas convencionalmente ou sancionadas pelo uso, acompanhadas do significado, por extenso, quando da primeira citação no texto. Não devem ser usadas no título e no resumo.

1.11 Abbreviations and acronyms: should be used in an international standardized way, restricting only those used conventionally or sanctioned by use, accompanied by the meaning, in full, when first quoted in the text. They should not be used in title and abstract.

2. Artigo de revisão 

Sugestão de até 30 páginas, numeradas, incluindo tabelas e figuras. O texto deve ser apresentado com: título, resumo e termos para indexação (os três em português e inglês); introdução; texto principal (subitens se necessários); agradecimentos; conclusões ou considerações finais e referências. Seguir as orientações dos itens comuns ao Artigo. No texto principal deve ser apresentada a análise crítica da literatura, subdividindo em itens, se necessário.

2. Review article

The suggestion of up to 30 pages, numbered, including tables and figures. The text should be presented with: title, abstract and terms for indexing (the three in Portuguese and English); introduction; main text (subitems if necessary); thanks; conclusions or final considerations and references. Follow the guidelines of items common to the Article. In the main text should be presented the critical analysis of the literature, subdividing into items, if necessary.

3. Nota científica

Sugestão de até 10 páginas, numeradas, incluindo tabelas e figuras. O texto deve ser apresentado com: título, resumo e termos para indexação (os três em português e inglês); texto principal (Introdução, material e métodos, resultados e discussão em seção única sem subitens); agradecimentos; conclusões e referências. Seguir as orientações dos itens comuns ao Artigo.

3. Short Comunication

Suggestion of up to 10 pages, numbered, including tables and figures. The text should be presented with: title, abstract and terms for indexing (the three in Portuguese and English); main text (Introduction, material and methods, results and discussion in single section without subitems); thanks; conclusions and references. Follow the guidelines of items common to the Article.

4. Coleções científicas biológicas

Sugestão de até 20 páginas, numeradas, incluindo tabelas e figuras. O texto deve ser apresentado com: título, resumo e termos para indexação (os três em português e inglês); texto principal (Introdução, descrição do material, discussão e conclusão). O texto deve conter dados totais ou parciais de coleções biológicas, institucionais ou particulares. Entende-se por dados parciais, a apresentação de parte(s) da coleção organizadas em função de: gêneros, famílias, classes, porte, nicho ecológico, bioma, etc e tal. Incluir informações sobre a coleta, registro, forma de vida, distribuição, método(s) de preservação, armazenamento e organização, curadoria e taxonomia. Incluir agradecimentos; conclusões e referências. Seguir as orientações dos itens comuns ao Artigo.

4. Biological Scientific Collections

Suggestions of up to 20 pages, numbered, including tables and figures. The text should be presented with: title, abstract and indexing terms (all three in Portuguese and English); main text (Introduction, material description, discussion and conclusion). The text must contain total or partial data from biological, institutional or private collections. Partial data means the presentation of part (s) of the collection organized according to: genres, families, classes, size, ecological niche, biome, etc. Include information on collection, registration, livelihood, distribution, method (s) of preservation, storage and organization, curation and taxonomy. Include thanks; conclusions and references. Follow the guidelines of items common to the Article.

5.1 Para o Resumo: forma resumida do manuscrito. Inclui descrição de objetivo, metodologia simplificada e principais resultados e/ou conclusões. Máximo de 100 palavras. O Abstract deve refletir o Resumo.

5.1 For the Abstract: summary form of the manuscript. Includes description of objective, simplified methodology and main results and / or conclusions. Maximum of 100 words. The Abstract should reflect the Summary.

5.2 Para apresentação de Tabelas: Devem ser numeradas sequencialmente, com algarismos arábicos e apresentadas no corpo do texto, antecedidas pelos respectivos títulos.

5.2 For presentation of Tables: They must be numbered sequentially, with Arabic numerals and presented in the body of the text, preceded by the respective titles.

5.2.1 Título: Use letras minúsculas. Deve ser conciso e não dividido em mais de uma frase ou sentença. Se o texto for em português apresente legendas em inglês.

5.2.1 Title: Use lowercase letters. It should be concise and not divided into more than one sentence or sentence. If the text is in Portuguese, present English subtitles.

5.2.2 Notas de fonte: em caso de dados publicados, a fonte deve ser informada e inserida nas referências.

5.2.2 Source notes: in case of published data, the source must be informed and inserted in the references.

5.2.3 Notas de chamada: são indicadas com símbolos ou algarismos arábicos, sobrescrito, à direita da palavra ou do número, no título, no cabeçalho, corpo ou coluna da tabela. São apresentadas de forma contínua, separadas por ponto e vírgula. As tabelas devem ser editadas no próprio arquivo, usando os recursos do menu Tabela. Não inserir tabelas como imagem. As colunas externas devem permanecer abertas. Os títulos de cada coluna devem ser grafados por extenso, em caixa baixa; se não for possível, explicar o significado das abreviaturas em notas de tabela. Todas as unidades de medida devem ser abreviadas de acordo com o Sistema Internacional de Unidades. Nas colunas de dados, os valores numéricos devem ser alinhados pela unidade. Padronizar as casas decimais para cada variável.

5.2.3 Call notes: are indicated with Arabic symbols or figures, superscript, to the right of the word or number, in the title, in the header, body or column of the table. They are displayed continuously, separated by a semicolon. Tables must be edited in the file itself using the Table menu features. Do not insert tables as image. The external speakers should remain open. The headings of each column should be written in full, in the box; if it is not possible, explain the meaning of the abbreviations in table notes. All units of measurement should be abbreviated according to the International System of Units. In the data columns, the numeric values must be aligned by the unit. Standardize the decimal places for each variable.

5.3 Para apresentação de Figuras 

5.3 For presentation of figures

São consideradas figuras: gráficos, desenhos, mapas e fotografias. As figuras devem ser numeradas sequencialmente, com algarismos arábicos e inseridas no corpo do texto, seguido do seu título e notas. Só devem ser usadas quando forem absolutamente necessárias à documentação dos fatos descritos. Os créditos de autoria de todas as ilustrações devem ser informados ao editor. Figuras não originais devem ser evitadas. Se essenciais, informar a fonte e encaminhar ao Editor a autorização de uso obtida junto ao detentor do direito patrimonial.

Figures are considered: graphics, drawings, maps and photographs. The figures should be numbered sequentially, with Arabic numerals and inserted in the body of the text, followed by their title and notes. They should only be used when they are absolutely necessary to document the facts described. Credits for all illustrations must be reported to the publisher. Non-original figures should be avoided. If essential, inform the source and forward to the Editor the authorization of use obtained from the holder of the patrimonial right.

5.3.1 Título: Use letras minúsculas. Deve ser conciso e não dividido em mais de uma frase ou sentença. Se o texto for em português apresente legendas em inglês. Por ocasião da edição final, as figuras deverão ser encaminhadas em arquivos separados (tif, jpeg ou png), com, no mínimo 300 dpi de resolução. Não usar negrito no corpo das figuras. A designação dos eixos deve ter apenas a inicial em maiúscula. Indicar as unidades entre parênteses.

4.3.1 Title: Use lowercase letters. It should be concise and not divided into more than one sentence or sentence. If the text is in Portuguese, present English subtitles. For the final edition, the figures should be sent in separate files (tif, jpeg or png), with at least 300 dpi resolution. Do not use bold in the figure body. Devem ser numerados sequencialmente, com algarismos arábicos e apresentados no corpo do texto.  Utilizar o módulo Editor de Fórmulas (equações) usando a fonte do texto, com símbolos, subscrito, sobrescrito ou outras inserções, em proporções adequadas. Nota: As variáveis utilizadas devem ser identificadas por extenso, em caixa baixa, de forma sequencial e separadas por ponto e vírgula. Notas de fonte: em caso de equação/modelo publicado previamente, a fonte deve ser informada e inserida nas referências. 

They should be numbered sequentially with Arabic numerals and presented in the body of the text. Use the Formulas Editor module (equations) using the text font, with symbols, subscript, superscript, or other inserts, in appropriate proportions. Note: Variables used must be identified in full, in lowercase, sequentially and separated by semicolons. Source notes: in the case of an equation/model previously published, the source must be informed and inserted in the references.

Referenciar as informações obtidas em outras publicações. As citações contidas no texto deverão constar na seção de Referências. A exatidão e a adequação das informações que tenham sido citadas/referenciadas no texto são de responsabilidade do(s)autor(es). O manuscrito deve conter citações de artigos de periódicos indexados (nacionais e internacionais), sendo preferencialmente 80% publicados nos últimos 5 anos. Devem ser normalizadas de acordo com as orientações a seguir: (a) Os sobrenomes dos autores devem ser grafados com a primeira letra maiúscula. (b) Obras com dois autores: sobrenomes grafados com a primeira letra maiúscula, separados por “ ; ”. (c) Obras com mais de dois autores: sobrenome do primeiro autor grafado com a primeira letra maiúscula, seguido da expressão et al. em fonte normal. Grafar os títulos das obras e dos periódicos em negrito.

Não são aceitas: citações diretas; citação de citação; resumos; comunicação pessoal; trabalhos de conclusão de curso de graduação; documentos no prelo, ou qualquer outra fonte, cujos dados não tenham sido publicados. Sempre que possível, evitar autocitação. Devem ser normalizadas de acordo com as orientações descritas a seguir: (a) Um autor: sobrenome grafado com a primeira letra maiúscula, seguido de vírgula e ano de publicação. (b) Dois autores: sobrenomes grafados com a primeira letra maiúscula, separados por “ponto e vírgula” seguidos de vírgula e ano de publicação. (c) Mais de dois autores: sobrenome do primeiro autor grafado com a primeira letra maiúscula, seguido da expressão “et al.”, em fonte normal, vírgula e ano de publicação. (d) Mais de uma obra: deve obedecer a ordem cronológica e em seguida a ordem alfabética dos autores.

Reference the information obtained in other publications. The citations contained in the text should be included in the References section. The accuracy and adequacy of the information that has been cited/referenced in the text is the responsibility of the author (s). The manuscript should contain quotations from indexed periodicals (national and international), preferably 80% published in the last 5 years. They should be standardized according to the following guidelines: (a) The surnames of the authors should be spelled with the first capital letter. (b) Works with two authors: surnames spelled with the first capital letter, separated by "; ". (c) Works with more than two authors: the surname of the first author spelled with the first capital letter, followed by the expression et al. in the normal source. Write the titles of the works and the periodicals in bold.

They have not accepted: direct quotations; citation; abstracts; personal communication; graduate course completion work; documents in the press, or any other source, whose data have not been published. Whenever possible, avoid self-citation. They should be standardized according to the guidelines described below: (a) An author: surname spelled with the first capital letter, followed by comma and year of publication. (b) Two authors: surnames spelled with the first capital letter, separated by "semicolon" followed by comma and year of publication. (c) More than two authors: the surname of the first author spelled with the first capital letter, followed by the expression "et al.", in normal font, comma and year of publication. (d) More than one work: it must obey the chronological order and then the alphabetical order of the authors.
